13 of 15 players on first team play for the club
It is often hard to measure FC Alliance- one of the premier Division 1 club in the southeast- locally. After all, top teams and players from the club usually compete outside the city limits. However, one way to measure how FC Alliance stacks up in the Knoxville area is by evaluating the club's performance in high school soccer. This year, like so many others, the club dominated the Knoxville News-Sentinel's Girls' PrepXtra and All-KIL teams. 13 of 15 on the first team and 11 of 18 on the second team played for FC Alliance in 2014.
"This is just a testament to what a great job our coaches are doing with these kids," stated Director of Coaching Josh Gray. "From the youngest ages and up, these kids are being developed into the area's top soccer players."
Although this is a high school honor, it is significant because the players spend eight months per year with their club, as opposed to four months with their high school. In fact, most (and often all) of a player's college recruitment occurs in club soccer.
