FC Alliance Introduces 3 New State Champions

FC Alliance has added three more state championships to the club's resume.  In a span of two weeks, the 98 Girls Black, 99 Girls Red and 04 Boys NPL all captured titles.  Meanwhile, three other teams earned state finalist honors: 99 Girls Black, 01 Girls Black and 02 Girls Red.   Six teams in the state finals was a strong showing, as a lot of players and coaches made the most of their trips to Memphis and Murfreesboro.

Other teams were ever so close.  The 03 Boys NPL lost in the sixth round of a penalty kick shootout in the semifinals.  The 02 Girls Black fell by a single goal to the eventual state champions in their only state tournament loss.

"The important thing is that our teams competed well," Director of Coaching Josh Gray pointed out.  "They all put in a tremendous effort and made an impact on the tournament."

For the 04 Boys NPL, the state championship game was especially sweet.  They came from behind and defeated TSC Showcase 3-2.  Last year, they lost to the same TSC team in the finals in a penalty kick shootout.  Late goals by Jaylon Green (on a superb cross from Lucas Nordin) and Cooper Cross paved the way.

Regionals are June 23-29 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
