Another FC Alliance player is going to be playing major college soccer next year. Austin Stone accepted an offer today to sign with the University of Memphis. Memphis is heading to the Big East, and so now is Stone, a creative midfielder known for his powerful shot. Stone has played for FC Alliance root clubs since he was a U11, and directors feel as if he will represent the club well at the next level. The Alcoa High School senior becomes the most recent of a string of players to be picked up by schools in major conferences. Multiple FC Alliance players have joined SEC schools in the last week, and now Stone becomes the second player to join the Big East. More are expected to sign soon.
We will get more information on Austin’s decision and update this story soon.
