U14 Girls Sweep Alliance Premier Cup
98 Black and Red both win championships

FC Alliance’s U14 girls pool is one of the club’s deepest and most talented age groups.  If there was ever any doubt, this weekend certainly put that to rest.  Coach Burak Er (Black) and Coach Carrie Ollom (Red) both guided their squads to titles in their respective divisions.  For the 98 Red, it was no big deal, as they outscored four opponents by a combined score of 22-0 to earn gold.  For the 98 Black, it was a dogfight almost all the way, as they had to fight and claw their way to top honors.

In fact, Black lost a pool play game to state rival Tennessee United Red 2-0 prior to the finals.  This a day after a heavyweight slugfest 3-1 win over ECNL team BUSA United.  In the end, however, Coach Er’s group won it all, knocking off Tennessee United 1-0 in the championship game.

The 98 Red simply cruised through their bracket.  No team came closer than five goals, and this includes teams from both TNFC and Concorde Fire.  With the state tournament just around the corner, the U14 age group is definitely beginning to generate some buzz.
