FC Alliance celebrated another state championship on Sunday when the 96 Girls Black defeated Brentwood 2-0 in the finals. Playing in the stadium at Murfreesboro’s Richard Siegel Soccer Complex, coach Josh Gray’s squad survived a shaky first ten minutes and won their biggest game of the year. A first half goal from Joanda Parchman would be all they needed, but Ellie Myrick added a late strike in the second half to seal the deal. The win wrapped up an impressive tournament run by Tennessee’s defending state champions.
The performance was absolutely impressive, as in three games the 96 Girls Black outscored their opponents 9-1. The other two wins were against the Lady Lobos of Collierville and another Brentwood team.
Gray’s team will now gear up for the regional tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.
