Eight Champions, Nine Finalists in Home Tourney
17 FC Alliance teams go to the finals of Fall Classic

Being a good tournament host means a lot of things.  It means making a fair schedule, providing good fields, getting qualified referees and keeping things organized and on schedule.  One thing it doesn’t mean is to concede anything on the soccer field.  In the club’s annual Fall Classic, despite being mixed in with 150 teams from nine different states, 17 FC Alliance teams advanced to championship games.  Champions were the 04 Boys Black 1, 03 Boys Black 1, 02 Girls Premier, 01 Girls Black, 00 Girls Black, 00 Girls North, 98 Boys Red and 97 Boys Black.

The tournament featured many great storylines for FC Alliance.  Included was a dominating 5-0 win for 01 Girls Black over 01 KFC Crush United, which was played in front of an energetic crowd.  The 01 Girls Black advanced to the championship game with the win.  The 04 Boys Black 1 claimed a championship over defending champion 03 CUSA Premier.  The team avenged a 6-5 loss in last year’s final with a 5-0 title-claiming win.

Other things of note include the 03 Boys Black 1 claiming top trophies for the second consecutive tournament.  Coach Mike MacLean’s squad won the Riverside Shootout two weeks ago in Asheville, North Carolina.  Meanwhile, the 03 Boys Black 2 played up an age group in the U12 Red division and stormed to the finals before falling 1-0 on a free kick.

FC Alliance finalists were: 06 Boys Premier, 05 Boys Premier, 05 Girls Black, 04 Girls Black, 04 Girls Red,  03 Boys Black 2, 03 Girls Red, 02 Girls Black and 96 Boys Red.
