FC Alliance Bombards Battleground Tournament
Two champions, three finalists in Nashville event

With an arsenal of weapons in their cache, FC Alliance recently stormed into The Battleground Tournament of Champions ready for war against some of the state’s toughest teams.  Facing off against an array of regionally prominent clubs, five teams fought their way to championship games.  Two of them- 00 Girls Black and 99 Boys Black- came away champions.  Another three earned finalist honors: 04 Boys Black 1, 04 Girls Premier and 01 Girls Black.

The 99 Boys Black not only won the championship, they did so by defeating archrival Tennessee Soccer Club 1-0 in the final.  The game could very easily be a preview of the looming state finals tournament.  The team won all three of their games, played in an approximately 22 hour stretch.

The 00 Girls Black were dominant all the way until the finals.  They knocked off three quality opponents- Arlington ASA (TN), JB Marine (MO) and Capital City Streaks (AL)- by a combined score of 11-1.  In the championship game, they overcame a feisty Tennessee Soccer Club squad 3-2 to claim the title.

The finalists all had monumental victories in the tournament.  The 04 Boys Black registered a statement win with a 9-1 thrashing of Lobos Rush.  The 04 Girls Premier defeated Tennessee Soccer Club Elite in a 2-1 thriller which announced their arrival to the state soccer scene.  The 01 Girls Black rocked the Knoxville Crush for the second time in two weeks, with a resounding 4-0 win.  Later that same day, they clubbed state rival Midsouth FC 5-0.
