It was hot, muggy, and sometimes rainy, but that did not stop the club’s competitive teams from hitting the fields for the annual preseason camp. With leagues like Volunteer State League, Tennessee State League and the regional leagues just around the corner, it was imperative that players started shaking off summer rust with touches on the ball and gameplay.
The camp represented both the past and the present, as former FC Alliance players were on hand to help coach and prepare current players for the season. Top club coaches from other states were also in attendance to work with players.
“The preseason camp gives everyone a chance to get a week of practice in before school starts,” said FC Alliance Girls Director of Coaching Josh Gray. “The teams not only get to prepare for the season, they also get a chance to spend time together.”
FC Alliance begins the new season with high hopes. In June, the 01 Girls captured the Division 1 state championship, giving the club a total of 30 state titles since 2008. The 02 Girls finished as state finalists and then went on a fantastic run to the region semifinals.
“Our club can do big things this season,” added ADC boys’ director Brad Camp. “We are really excited about the potential of the players and coaches.”
